Bible Passage: John 20:19-31

CONSIDER THIS

Thomas was a real practical sort. He was never one to pretend to believe something that he did not really believe. And he’d speak up about it, asking questions or declaring what he needed to see to believe.

Once, after Jesus was resurrected, the disciples told Thomas, “Hey, we’ve see Him. He showed us His hands, His side. We’ve seen Him. It’s really Him! Jesus is risen! He’s alive.” You’d think that Thomas would trust these guys. But Thomas needed to see it for himself.

Sure enough, Jesus appeared to Thomas, showed him His wounds and said, “Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” Thomas responded by saying: “My Lord and my God!” He simply needed to see — and then he believed.

So come to Jesus with your skepticism. Come to Him with your doubt. Come to Him, ask Him as many questions as you might have —  and choose to put your faith in Him. You can turn your skepticism into faith and turn your doubt into belief. There is power in believing in Jesus!
