Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think about that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life? At the River, we believe that Jesus is God. We take Him at His word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. And, while that means you might learn some things on how to be a better person, how to have a better marriage, or how to be more fulfilled in life, that's not really the point. Because, without Jesus, none of that matters. It is because of Jesus that we can be a better person. It is through Jesus that we can have a better marriage. And, true fulfillment is only found in Jesus. But all of that comes out of knowing and loving him.
That's why we teach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. From Genesis to Revelation, this book tells us one story; His story. While there are many "little stories", they all point to the Big Story; the story of a loving God who stepped into His creation - God in human flesh (that's Jesus) - and came on a rescue mission for you and me.
