How to be Great - More of Him, Less of Me

CONSIDER THIS
God calls us to do things that don’t make much sense in this world. Our culture tells us that “I” matter — that my timetable, my trophies, my triumph make a difference. It’s all about me.
What if God wants us to be less?
We live in a world that craves more. More recognition. More success. More money. More power. More stuff. More… well, you fill-in-the-blank.
We don’t talk about decrease.
But John the Baptist did. Even as one of the foremost religious leaders of his day, John recognized: “[Jesus] must increase and I must decrease” (John 3:30). More of Him. Less of me. John knows this. It’s not about him. It’s all about Jesus. That is how to be great.
That’s our calling: Live a life focused on Jesus. Point others to Him. Lift up Jesus. More of Him. Less of me.
When we decrease and He increases, we find life.
