Do You Believe This?

Bible Passage: John 11:1-44

CONSIDER THIS

Her world is topsy turvy. How could this be? One moment her brother is fine, in a blink he gets sick and now he’s gone. Perhaps you’ve walked in Martha’s footsteps and have felt the consuming emptiness, loneliness and despair. Why hadn’t Jesus come? He could have healed Lazarus but now it’s too late.

Remember, though, Jesus is never late. He’s always on time with a greater plan. When Jesus arrives, He promises her that Lazarus will indeed rise and live again — and then boldly declares, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Me will never die.”

In the midst of tragedy, Jesus asks her a profound question, one that He asks you today: “Do you believe this?”

Take a look at the end of the story. Jesus walks to the tomb, removes the stone and shouts, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man hears the voice, the only voice that wakes the dead and gives life. Imagine that! Lazarus comes out! No more sadness, brokenness, doom or gloom. Their topsy turvy world is now filled with unspeakable joy.

Do you believe? If not, what is stopping you?
