Anyone remember Paul Harvey? He was a popular radio broadcaster back in the day. He’d often tell a short, captivating story with unexpected twists and turns, centered around little known historical facts, events or people. It always ended with the famous tagline, “And now you know…..the rest..of the story.”

Just like a story in the Bible about a man named Apollos. He was highly educated, eloquent and powerful in his preaching of the Scriptures. He was accurate in everything he taught about Jesus up to a point. But something was missing. When Priscilla & Aquila, two tentmakers, heard him speak in the synagogue, they took him aside and explained the gospel more completely. They shared the rest of the story with him.

We can come to know a lot *about* Jesus but not know Him at all. We’re missing the message. It’s just information, not transformation. Religion says, “Repent, turn and do better.” We try and fail and become discouraged, because we can’t do it. Jesus changed that! He says, “Repent and turn to Me.” Jesus didn’t come to change our minds. He came to change our heart and life forever. God gives us His Holy Spirit to empower us. It’s His Spirit living in us, transforming us. Now, you know…the rest of the story.
