The End of Religion

Words on a page cannot compare to personal experience. We don’t need religion. We don’t need a list of do’s and don’ts. We don’t need further speculation or debate. We need Jesus. Period. And you can have Him. Really. You can experience Jesus intimately. You were meant to. 

Religion says: “Do this, do that, give more, strive harder, be better.” Indeed, religion has vandalized Jesus. It gives the impression of having Him, while it prevents you from experiencing the real thing. 

Jesus came to end religion. And to restore a real relationship with Him. 

The astonishing response to God’s gift is our reluctance to accept it. We want it. But on our terms. For some odd reason, we feel better if we earn it. So we create religious hoops and hop through them. Why would we do that? 

No more hoops are needed. Throw them away! It’s not about what we can do. It’s all about Jesus — He has done it all for us. He has removed all barriers and has bridged the gap once and for all. He reaches out to us, desiring a relationship. Only believe. Accept the work already done, the work of Jesus on the cross. Accept the goodness, the promises, the heart of Jesus. Abandon our own works and accept His. Stand before God in His name, not ours. It’s all about Jesus! Jesus did it all!
