Outside In
Outside In
Bible Passage: Colossians 4:2-6
CONSIDER THIS
We’ve all been there: pulling an inside-out shirt from the dryer — or we could say it was outside-in — and having to turn it right-side out.
The Bible talks about insiders and outsiders, too. Here, in the final chapter of Colossians, the apostle Paul shares practical truth about how those on the “inside” should interact with “outsiders.” Here’s God’s plan: to get insiders out to get outsiders in. You might have to read that last sentence a few times to get the full impact.
You see, Jesus came for the outsiders. We can all relate to being an outsider at some point, and He invited us to come “in” to His family. And we can do the same.
To bring outsiders in, pray steadfastly, watchfully, thankfully, and specifically for opportunities to share the gospel. Prayer equips us to go: to walk in wisdom and to speak with grace, in a way that is inviting. Walk and talk in such a way that people see Jesus. And invite the outsider in.
