Knowing God

CONSIDER THIS

Dig into His Word, discover the unchanging attributes of God, and delight in getting to know the God we serve. Cling to His character. He does not budge. He is who He is. He reigns today and forever.

Create a list of your discoveries and hold them close in your heart. Mine looks something like this:

• God is holy, always holy. God is absolutely pure, without sin. Good, righteous and true. Perfect. Never makes mistakes. Never needs to repent. That’s our God!
• God is merciful — think about it, He is full of mercy
• His actions and decisions are perfectly just. We can trust Him and what He does because He leads us to good things, even when we might not understand
• God does not change, ever. Everything else might waiver and shift and fall apart, but He is the same, all the time
• His Word and promises stand forever
• He is endlessly faithful and near

There is great comfort and security in knowing God. He will never abandon us and will help us persevere to the end. He is dependable and will never fail us.

What an excellent way to enter the new year: focusing on our God, worshipping Him wholeheartedly and letting Him reign in our lives  today and forever!
