How Then Should We Live? Part Two

Book: Colossians

Bible Passage: Colossians 3:18-19

CONSIDER THIS

  • I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to steal the covers from for the rest of your life.
  • My wife says I never listen…or something like that
  • Marriage is full of surprises, but it’s mostly just asking each other, “Do you have to do that right now?” — Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman

It’s no surprise that the apostle Paul had something to say about relationships. Many say it’s controversial, outdated, offensive. But it’s not! God’s Word is true from long ago, and still true for today. When Jesus is Lord in our hearts, He transforms our relationships. He makes a difference in our marriages.

When we dig deeper, we see Jesus as our supreme example. He came and showed us how to love.

  • He loves us at all time
  • He loves us when we’re at our worst, cranky and hateful
  • He loves us when we feel unloveable
  • His love does not diminish or end when we mess up or have a bad moment
  • His love is eternal and committed, not based on our actions or feelings
  • His love remains the same and is a constant we can rely on in an ever changing world
  • He chooses to love us, sacrificially and unconditionally, always and ever

That’s how we’ve been loved.

So love like that.
