Standing Fearless
Standing Fearless
Speaker: Mickey Lohr
Bible Passage: Acts 6-7
CONSIDER THIS
We all learned it in driver’s ed. The first things we should do when we get in a car is: adjust your seat, fasten your seatbelt, check your mirrors. We certainly want a clear view of our surroundings. Wouldn’t want to miss any blind spots. So what do you see? If it’s your side mirror, you’ll see a warning, “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”
That’s exactly what Stephen did. Remember Stephen? He was one of the guys chosen in the early church to work in “the cafeteria.” Now Stephen has been arrested and brought before the Jewish leaders. He holds up a mirror to point out their blind spots. It’s masterful. He retells the history of God’s people, drawing a line from Abraham to the present day — all of it points to Jesus.
Throughout, Stephen stands fearlessly, speaking boldly and extending the hand of grace.
We can do the same. We are here on mission for our King to share His message. No time to hide our faith. No time to be cowardly. No time to fear what might happen. Instead, let’s open our eyes to every opportunity that crosses our path and stand fearlessly, sharing His message boldly with love and grace. Trust Him to take care of the rest.
