True or False

Speaker: Tom Beaman

Bible Passage: 2 Thessalonians 2

CONSIDER THIS

A man was seated on a park bench next to a little chap who was holding tightly to his most prized possession — a vintage pocket watch. “My, what a pretty watch,” remarked the man. “Does it tell you the time?”

“No, sir.” replied the boy. “You gotta look at it.”

The Truth is found in God’s Word. To know the Truth, we’ve got to look at it, open His book, read His words, munch on them — all the while, holding tightly to its Truth.

The apostle Paul shares the importance of standing firm in the Truth. He says, “Don’t worry, it’s gonna get worse.” Somehow, he makes terrible news into good. It’s a message of hope and comfort and encouragement.

When we believe the Truth, we have nothing to fear.

The Lord God knows your name. He knows who you are, knows your problems and the broken parts. And He is crazy for you. Hang on. Do not be rattled, do not be discouraged, do not doubt — by what’s going on all around us. Get into the Word. Keep a strong grip on the Truth. There’s nothing to fear. You are known and loved by God.
