Bible Passage: The Book of Ruth
CONSIDER THIS
Peek into the book of Ruth and see God weaving a majestic tapestry out of ordinary, broken lives. He actively orchestrates events and turns desperate situations into stories of hope.
This story showcases three redeemers.
The first is Ruth, an unlikely redeemer. A foreign outsider from Moab, she chooses to follow Naomi and trust God. It’s so much more than an address change; it’s a profound act of faithfulness — giving up absolutely everything — so Naomi’s family might be redeemed.
The second is Boaz, the formal redeemer. A wealthy landowner, he is the son of the prostitute Rahab. Ruth finds favor in Boaz’s fields — not because she deserves it, but because of his kindness. Boaz loves Ruth and pays off her debts, marries her, and welcomes this outsider directly into his family with open arms.
The lives of both Ruth and Boaz point to the real Redeemer. Through their family tree, the baby born in a Bethlehem manger gives up absolutely everything to come to earth, to redeem and restore our lives. He willingly lays down His life and pays the price for us, welcoming us into His family, deeply loved. We belong to Him.
He can redeem every life, even yours.
