You are Free in Christ

Paul writes to the Colossians to warn them about some dangerous false teachings that were threatening the church. He tells them about three counterfeits to Christianity: legalism, mysticism and asceticism. Paul didn’t want these believers to be chained to man-made religion, telling them, “Don’t let anyone rob you of the freedom we have in Jesus. In Him, we have everything we need!”

Religion is what we do for God. Christianity is about what God has already done for us. It’s God reaching down to mankind with love through Jesus Christ, replacing religion with a relationship with a living God.

The gospel sets us free! When we believe and trust in Jesus, then we know the only Person who’s opinion matters already knows us, already loves us. He has loved you, does love you, and will always love you. We can live in Jesus and be truly free!
