What God Really Wants

CONSIDER THIS

When we open the book of Amos,  we see nothing but judgment and warning signs. Amos was a rugged shepherd who called out people for ignoring the poor and going through the motions of religion. It feels heavy, but if we look closely, we can find Jesus standing right in the middle of the wreckage.

At the very end of the book, in the final five verses, Amos speaks a powerful message of hope and fresh starts. He talks about a day when ruins will be rebuilt and gardens will overflow — and points to the One coming who will redeem and restore all people.

Jesus makes good on that promise for everyone today, bringing real hope, life and true restoration. God did it for us. Out of pure kindness and generosity, He makes things right between us and Himself. He pulls us out of our messes and restores us to where He always wanted us to be. He did it all through Jesus, sending Him to die in our place to take away our sins.

Even this moment, if our lives feel ruined and hopelessly fractured, He wants us to turn to Him and He will step in to restore us, turning our brokenness into places of grace. This is what God really wants.
