Bible Passage: Genesis 50:15-26
CONSIDER THIS
Everything is God’s, He is in control of all things and He’s good! Take, for example, the story of Joseph. God carefully directs every detail of his story. His life is a preview of how God accomplishes the salvation of His people.
In God’s hands, intentional evil is transformed into eventual good.
Joseph clings to this promise, even when life is absolutely brutal. His story is overflowing with betrayal, tears and injustice. Yet, time and time again, God keeps turning his mess into a message, redeeming his pain. The torn robe is replaced with a royal one, the pit becomes a palace, and his broken family is restored. The very acts intended to destroy God’s servant are instead used to strengthen him.
Every detail of Joseph’s story points to God’s promise. Even in his final words, Joseph says twice: “God will surely VISIT you.” The story isn’t over yet. Someone’s coming. The Savior is coming to redeem!
Get this. Nearly 2000 years later, the priest Zechariah prophesies in the book of Luke, “Blessed be the Lord God, for He has VISITED and REDEEMED His people just as He promised through His holy prophets long ago.”
Do you see it? One epic story from beginning to end.
Honestly, how much more proof do we need that God is in control and turning everything around for our good? Let’s live from that confidence!
